Peptides and Prosecco
Four adult friends talk with empty hands on a sunlit front stoop beneath a broad pale wall.

Bring your curiosity to Peptides and Prosecco so I can turn chatter into clear questions

A friend mentions peptides, and suddenly there are six unfamiliar names in the conversation. I’m here for the questions that follow, including the awkward ones. We can be curious without nodding along to everything, and “I don’t know yet” is a perfectly useful answer. No vocabulary test required.

The claim that follows you home

Suppose a friend says a peptide changed everything. My next question would be what “everything” means. Was it an injury that improved, a change in appetite, or something else? I can take their experience seriously and still ask what else was happening at the time. Feeling better is real to that person; knowing what caused it takes more than a good story.

A name is not a preparation

A peptide is a short chain of protein building blocks, which tells us what it is, not whether it’s an approved medicine. Semaglutide and tirzepatide have FDA-approved prescription products. Compounding means making a medicine for a particular need, and compounded medicines are not FDA-approved. I want to know the exact preparation, because a familiar ingredient name doesn’t tell me the whole story.

Give the interesting bit a fair hearing

I’ve split the reading by the names you may have heard: semaglutide and tirzepatide, BPC-157 and GHK-Cu, and NAD+ and PT-141. They have different uses and very different amounts of evidence behind them. NAD+ isn’t even a peptide, despite sometimes joining the conversation. I’ll explain the useful bits and leave the alphabet gymnastics out of it.

Keep the next step ordinary

I’d take three clear questions over a folder of dramatic promises. What is it meant to help with? What evidence in people supports that use? What are the risks for me?

The care questions page helps you get those thoughts ready for an appointment. You don’t have to arrive with a treatment already picked out. I’m just as happy if the reading helps you understand a name and leave it there.
